Not registered yet? Bill correctly anyway
A business below the GST turnover threshold must not charge GST and issues a Bill of Supply. billkraft does that properly, and switches to tax invoices the day your GSTIN arrives.
Sign up without a GSTIN
Leave the GST number blank at signup. Most billing software treats registration as compulsory, which leaves smaller businesses either locked out or entering something invented.
No tax is charged, and it cannot be
For an unregistered business, tax is forced to zero on the server whatever the browser sends. Charging GST without registration is an offence, so this is enforced rather than left to the person filling in the form.
The document says what it is
Your PDF is headed Bill of Supply rather than Tax Invoice, and drops the GST columns and tax total entirely instead of printing a row of zeros.
Switching over later
When your registration comes through, add the GSTIN in settings. New documents become tax invoices with the correct CGST, SGST or IGST split. Nothing needs re-entering.
